Porridge with Greek Yogurt and Cinnamon Apple Slices

Ingredients

Instant porridge oats (I used Quaker Oats)

1 Apple (sliced)

Ground Cinnamon

Greek yogurt; either vanilla or honey flavours work well

And I added some smooth peanut butter but it's optional :)

Method

I just followed the instructions given on my porridge oats packaging, so I added my oats to the bowl and put in some low fat milk, I also added a pinch of salt. Then I put the porridge into the microwave for 2 minutes and 20 seconds (obviously the time will depend on your own microwave and instructions on your porridge packaging). You can add a little extra milk when you take it out of the microwave if you think it needs it.

While my porridge was cooking, I started slicing my apple which I placed on a microwavable plate/dish and I sprinkled some cinnamon over the top. Once my porridge was done, I put the plate of apples into the microwave for 30 seconds.

I then started putting a couple of tablespoons of my honey greek yogurt on top of the porridge- If you want to you can thin the yogurt down with some milk. I added one teaspoon of peanut butter (optional), and then I put my cinnamon apples on top also.

If you used vanilla greek yogurt, it might be nice to drizzle honey over the top! :)

I enjoyed my entire bowl and found it really filling. The sweetness of the apples cuts through the saltiness that was added to the porridge.
